My God is more than definition.  My God is not a Republican.  My God is not a Democrat.  My God is not an American.  My God is not a Brazilian.  My God is not a communist, socialist, or a capitalist.  My God is not white, my God is not black, my God is not yellow.  My God is not a man.  My God is not a woman.  My God is not a child.  My God is not an adult.  My God is more.

We want our God to be like us, but we have it backwards.  God wants his people to be like him.

And we are.  We are like our God.  In ways that are pure, lovely, holy, and good.

Not in all ways, for we all fall short.  (Romans 3:23)  But we reflect his glory. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

Republicans, Democrats, Americans, Brazilians, All nations can reflect God’s glory. Communists, socialists, capitalists, all races, women and men, infants, teens, adults, can reflect God’s glory.  WE.  Humanity.  CAN reflect God’s glory.  DO reflect God’s glory.

We cannot manifest glory on our own, we can not generate, create or fabricate glory.  We know only in part, soon to know in full.  Moses saw the back of God and was radiant for days, physically he was glowing.  We reflect.  We are mirrors, shining light only when it falls upon us.  My God is more than “undefined and unlimited”.  My God is beyond definition.  Beyond comprehension.  Beyond that even.

My God defines me.  My political affiliation, gender, race, bank account, social status, charity donations, volunteer hours, passions, convictions, sins….do not define me.  Praise God.  A mirror is only known as one when light is able to reflect off of it.  Without light, a mirror has no purpose, function, or identity.  Without light a mirror is nothing.  My God is my light.  My God defines me.

I am, because my God is.
